Why make it FREE, and so easy? Bottom line, for this writer it is easier working with a used car salesman then with a publicist! Take that back, it is indeed impossible to get through to a publicist or a bonafide publishing company. You first have to find an agent. And this so-called "Book Agent" is just another name for somebody that is under-employed, so they are in it to make a once in a lifetime killing. Most of the time they have a foot in the door of a publishing company, usually a "back door". But they only look and book materials that will make a quick and dirty buck. In fact, most of the self-help books on publishing recommend spending all your extra cash on finding a "coach" that can find an agent that can find a publisher! In the end, the author ends up with about 10% of the proceeds from the sale of a book, if published 2-years later! The entire "getting published" fiasco makes one want to commit harikari. Or prescribe it to others - not the book! So searching for an agent or a coach is a waste of time and money, considering we now have before us a revolution, that of the Internet. SAP, "Self-Advertising & Publishing" has never been easier. The present state of affairs in the publishing industry is allowing a lot of good stuff to remain stuck and fragmented as a file on somebody's computer. The time involved in finding that outlet to the "press" is too time consuming for me, as I would rather move on to my next writing venture - be it another novel, adding to my collection of poems or short-stories "opinionating" my views of the present circumstances surrounding mankind's unkind evolution. I don't know what "writer's block" is all about. And one must realize that a published author doesn't make enough to survive peacefully. See, the good writers out there are being sacrificed for "garbage". Big name outfits are giving away huge sums of money to get a "name" instead of a true writer, just to sell books by the "name". In this day and age, one can judge a book by its cover! By the "name" of the author, usually in big print on a fancy cover with a fancy title that has noting to do with anything! And talk about fancy covers! The cost of printing is outrageous, besides being not so environmentally friendly. Ever notice the scull and cross-bones on printer's ink? How about that warning on a laser printer cartridge? Sure there exists a bunch of fuddy-duddy self-publishing outfits that will easily put your book in print, but you'll go bankrupt, as there is no marketing involved. And the "big time" publishers own space at the box-type book chain stores, so even if you spend your life's savings on boxes of "self-published" books that takes up all the once free space in your garage, you still won't get anything in return - except if it is cold, burn the books! Anyway, the revolution allows me to take a different approach. See, the "writings" herein this site - my intellectual property as it is called - are now out there for others to enjoy. It may not be perfect, but over time I will perfect my ways and means. I have designed this WEB site with the intent on making this "property" available, for FREE! What makes my approach different? I look for sponsors. The WEB is by far the modern day hero of advertising. It is taking over many outdated forms of communications. Think about it. If you were searching my site and found a title of interest sponsored by a big name, small name or no-name yet, wouldn't that drive an interest in the product?
